Christmas Decorations
Here's some practical advice on putting up Christmas decorations: always have sellotape and string available - also, a large hammer and screwdriver...
I dunno - I think it won't work. We were destined to promote music in some form or another... But even the arbiters of taste have to stop for Christmas.
So, answers please on a postcard to K-City Enterprises c/o Mars and Venus. Have a fine Christmas and see y'all in the New Year!!

All Good Things...
Yes, I'm afraid we're looking at rounding off our Music Tuesday spot at the Gulbenkian after November's Amy Wadge gig. And we've just cancelled October's Nana Tsiboe / Blood Brothers gig on the 28th due to a lack of take-up on that one. I know it sounds a bit grim but it's all good - all catered for in the unfolding tapestry of musical enterprise. So watch this space and get along to Amy's gig on the 25th November - It'll be "party time"!!

Gold Medals
Yes, gold medals - that's us, Team GB! But all good things come to an end and now it'll be all eyes on 2012... That's another four years, people!! But you can still get regular updates when you attend the 'monthly musical moment' at the Gulbenkian Café Bar and see Gold Medal Acts such as Tim Hain plus band on the 30th September. D'you think I could sell double glazing??

Summer Sun
We have a little time off in the Summer. It's because we are creative creatures that need feeding with regular doses of extreme pleasure... More than that I dare not say. However, you can catch a glimpse of recent activity by clicking our youTube link. Enjoy the sun, rain, beach, high street and book to see Tim Hain in September!!

That Rich Bristol Seam
Last year we entertained, or rather were entertained by, Pete Roe. He of Bristol fame who made a few friends when he was here and we were duly impressed. This Tuesday, 27th, we have PHIL KING making the same journey down the M4, round the M25 and (probably) along the M20 (well that's the way I'd go). If his website is anything to go by - www.phil-king.net - he's definitely worth yer £5... You may even become a fan!!

Enlightenment
With warm weather comes those feelings of... well, romance, good times, long evenings and great music. We have two fine gigs coming up - they'll start in warm evening sun (possibly) and finish under the stars (you never know)! Come see Phil King later this month, promises to be a good one.

Come rain, come shine...
April brings the unexpected - warm sunshine one day and two inches of snow the next. If you're looking for consistency don't look to the English weather, better to just show at the next K-City Music Tuesday, which is the 29th, and see one of Kent's most hidden gems MAIUKO. You'll ask yourself "why haven't I seen or heard of her before - she's fantastic!!"

Pushing the Envelope
Sa Mon Di will be pushing the boundaries of our normally sedate enclosure at the Gulbenkian Cafe Bar, Tuesday 25th March... Kofi Dako's mix of High-Life, Afro-beat and Reggae is worth sampling and even leaving your seat for - its very dancable!
25 February 2008
Spring Gigs
Got a great line-up sorted for the coming months. April sees MAIUKO make a return to the Gulbenkian where she'll be playing material from her forthcoming album.
Then in May we've dipped into the Bristol talent pool again and come up with singer-songwriter PHIL KING - check-out Phil's web site and hear some of his fine tunes!!
June sees blues phenomenon KING SIZE SLIM take to the Bar boards - you can check this 'groove-funkin' dudester' out on his MySpace page.

Hail Bop'd
Well, our great Fusion experiment produced good moments and a fine evening! 'Musician's Music'? well, obviously not entirely - there were authentic fusion fans in attendance and some 'just curious' punters too. Video and review will be appearing shortly - watch this space.

Pete Roe rounds up our year!
Tuesday was a good night to be at the Gulbenkian Theate. Jaz Rice did an impromptu support (all the way from Geneva!) and Pete Roe made a few good friends with his charm and cool grooves... Check-out our young Lord Jocelyn of Kent's review by clicking Pete's pic, Then judge for yourself by clicking the YouTube link and seeing one of Pete's songs from that evening - if you feel the urge, you could even subscribe and get informed whenever we post a new vid. And while you're here, check out the 2008 line-up - its good!!

K-City does YouTube...
At last!! We've clicked our way to posting some of the many great videos we have on You Tube. Dial-in 'kcityradio' on the search engine and after twenty minutes of messin' about something will happen...(kcityradio is the channel) Hopefully it will be quicker than that! And please comment so's we know you still care:-)

Wood, Sa Mon Di, Hail Bop for 2008
We're happy to announce some 2008 gigs that we're already very 'hot-under-the-collar' about; kicking-off with Ivan Thompson's fusion outfit HAIL BOP featuring Martin Elliot and other jazz-fusion exponents. Then in February we're very lucky to get Folk's growing legend CHRIS WOOD - Chris will be featuring tracks from his new album 'Trespasser' (book early for that, there will be plenty of demand!).
In March we're featuring SA MON DI - Kofi Dako's exciting African Fusion band (7 of 'em) about to make waves in the region and beyond...
Details will be posted over the coming weeks - see also the new Gulbenkian brochure.

Amy Conquers
Music Tuesday enjoyed a great night on the 25th. AMY WADGE arrived and impressed a 'standing room only' crowd with a great vocal performance (click here for a review). She being a Cardiff Girl an all... had travelled far and already we look forward to getting Amy back in the not too distant future (maybe with her band).
All eyes now to October and our first encounter with THE DEALERS! Please book early so's we know you're coming and don't get all upset thinking you don't really care...

Back in the groove...
K-City Music Tuesdays kicks back into gear next week (25th) with AMY WADGE. Amy's dubbed her current schedule 'Bump On the Road Tour' for reasons that will be apparent when you see her. She's having a chat with BBC Radio Kent's Pat Marsh ahead of the Gulbenkian gig so keep an ear out for that.

Dealers and Pete Roe up for Autumn gigs
We're delighted to get The Dealers for our October Music Tuesday. They're probably the busiest acoustic duo around and are scooting all over the country gaining quite a reputation (good reputation).
We've also got Bristol-based singer-songwriter Pete Roe booked for November. He's another busy dude who plays great original material on guitar and piano... But not all at once you understand.
Details will appear shortly on the Events page.

Jackie pleases
Jackie Leven had a busy few days: After staying up late on Saturday night with Radio 2's Bob Harris, he was gigging on Sunday and then off to Leeds to talk to keen music students on the Monday. When he eventually got back to his Hampshire res he was duly reminded about the K-City gig on the Tuesday.
What Jackie had seen as a 'day off' sitting back and watching The Rockford Files, turned into a major pilgrimage East (the railways are a wonderful thing). And Jackie's a true professional, he turned up in good time and captivated the K-City Faithful with two sets of home- grown song and narrative. Worth his weight in gold and a lot more, we look forward to his next appearance in this neck of the woods.

Jackie Leven rolling into the city on Tuesday!
Don't forget Music Tuesday this week! We've got Jackie Leven travelling great distances to entertain us and despite rumours that it'll be him and his dog, it will actually only be the great man himself. Anyone who's seen Jackie before will know he has a great story to tell and its well worth the trouble to get up to the Gulbenkian for that evening.
